How to Set up System Identity (Router Name) on MikroTik Router

Step-by-Step Instructions

✅ Using Winbox

1. Open Winbox and connect to your MikroTik router.
2. From the left menu, go to System → Identity.
3. In the Identity field, enter your desired router name (e.g., Office-Router).
4. Click OK to apply the change.

When you log in to Mikrotik, already => the system => identify

Enter the name of your Mikrotik Router: howtokh then => Apply => OK

To make sure, go to the New Terminal you will see the name that you set up

1. Open your web browser and go to your router’s IP address (e.g., http://192.168.88.1).
2. Log in with your credentials.
3. Navigate to System → Identity.
4. Type the new name in the Identity field.
5. Click Apply or OK to save it.

1. Open New Terminal in Winbox or connect via SSH.
